Gas Fees Are Killing Small Projects
Been trying to launch a basic governance contract last week and couldn’t believe the tx cost. It was 0.018 ETH just to deploy. That’s mad.
Feels like Ethereum’s pricing out the little builders. Not everyone’s backed by a VC or running a token presale. Some of us just wanna test ideas.
I still love Solidity and EVM. Still think it's the best place to build open protocols. But honestly, it's getting harder to justify small experiments. You pay more to deploy than you’d spend on a coffee machine.
There’s Layer 2 options yeah I know. But it’s still messy. Moving funds around, explaining bridges to users... I wish it wasn’t so complicated. Half my mates in dev chat just avoid it.
Hope 2020 brings some serious changes. Otherwise I don’t see how we can keep the hacker vibe alive.
